Carrie Jean Whiteside entered in this life on May 5, 1958, in San Antonio, Texas, to Pauline and Don Thomas.

She grew up in the San Antonio area with two sisters and two brothers. After graduating from high school and enjoying life, Carrie relocated to Dallas, Texas. Carrie Jean met and fell in love with Benjamin Whiteside, and they became one union on November 30, 1994.

She worked in the medical field in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for Presbyterian Hospital. Carrie had a love for children and enjoyed working with the babies and their families. In the year of 2000, she had to leave the Neonatal Care Unit due to an extended illness. After retiring, Carrie Jean began to dedicate all of her time to her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends – being the social butterfly that she has always been.

On October 14, 2016, Carrie Jean Whiteside, age 58, entered into her eternal home, leaving this life peacefully at home. She was welcomed with open arms by both of her parents, Pauline and Don Thomas; brothers, John Clay and Leroy Clay; and sisters, Patricia Fennell and Debra Clay.

Those that will always cherish Carrie Jean’s life and her legacy are her husband, Benjamin Whiteside; son, Jimmy Lee Thomas; daughters, Robin Lyles, Conquita Thomas and Nakida Thomas; grandchildren, Quaniquie Thomas, Aubreya Thomas, Hailey Lyles, Madison Lyles, Keith Griffin, Maurice Griffin, Keimaury Griffin, Ziyah Grace Griffin and Ahmad Griffin; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
